I only bring up those statistics to give those who read this a general idea of how much time I’ve spent playing the game, and the passion I have for it. This way the things I am going to suggest don’t seem to come out of nowhere, or from a player in the community who does not have as much game knowledge.
First off, I absolutely love this game. Fortnite has been such a booming success. Not only is it going to be a competitive game, but a fun game as well. There’s a reason players return who often complain of changes that completely flip the meta, or players who talk badly of the game.
The game has something to it that shouldn’t be let go. ———— First off to talk about: Shotgun Damage. Epic recently made some adjustments to the Pump Shotgun, and Tac Shotgun. Pump Shotgun. Headshot multiplier reduced from 2.5 to 2.0. Damage reduced from 90/95 to 80/85 Tactical Shotgun. Headshot multiplier reduced from 2.5 to 2.0 Not only did the pump receive a nerf on the Headshot damage, BUT it received an overall damage nerf as well.
Prior to this change, I can confidently tell you there was not many reasons to pick up a Tactical Shotgun, after the nerf of it as well, there are even less reasons to use it. Understandably, the rarities of the weapons now fit their damage values accordingly, but then again, balance is lost here. I really enjoyed 20v20 because it rewarded people with a more careful style. You could sit back with a scoped AR or sniper and punish the over aggressive players who pushed too hard. I'm not great at pushing because I'm old and I can't react fast enough to counteract someone who is really good at building. But I'm wily enough to bait people into overcommitting and then make them pay for it.
I don't have a stellar KD but I've managed to get 320ish wins at about a 10% clip. I've come to terms with the fact that I'll never succeed as a balls to the wall ramp rusher.commensurate - sorry for being correction cop.
I also relate to the old guy sentiment. Granted, I've always been a completionist; for example, I'm always surprised to find unopened ammo boxes in completely picked-over areas. 'That can be opened, how can you not open iiiiiiiittttt.' Yes, I know it's stupid and there are 100 reasons why it's smarter to be fast than thorough, but I just. This game punishes the dawdler. I've had to become much more frantic in my approach to FN, and have accepted that I'll never truly be fast enough to drop down from a roof and headshot someone through a sliver of an opening as I fall. I am 39 years old i played the old battlefield+ mods i played modern warfare 1 i played Team fortress 2 i played insurgency i player PUBG But Fortunite.
Build things and at the same time hide, block, counter, shoot and kill someone. Sorry my brain is to slow for this you need really high skill 1.you need to use the keyboard without look at ever 2.you need to do 4 or 6 things at the same time really fast. 3.you need good map knowledge 4.you need time, at least you need to play 2 hours a day to get better and i don't have this time i have an 46 hours work week and an household. So i think fortnite is not for people like me. Is it constructive though?
Uses a lot of stats and it's all opinion based. The summary of this post is that they don't like the recent changes and to undo them, that's their opinion and I can respect that.
Personally I like the changes. Shotguns are still used but definitely being used less, RPGs spam at end game is reduced, c4 is actually useful, build fights have changed and you need to be smarter than your opponent and not simply faster and have more mats. To me these changes have made the game more enjoyable and have made various guns far more viable than they were before. Completely agree with you. I can actually use a Tac now and not feel like I'm going to get 1 pumped.
The one thing I do agree with OP on is the trap change and materials being gutted. Other than that, it seems like OP really favors 1 pumping and build fights. I do respect his/her opinion, but the only thing I hate about this patch is the material nerf. Build wars are really fun and intense, but the c4 buff makes you think twice before just rushing for high ground and looking down waiting for the enemy to catch up. While games like this can take a lot of tuning to get right, I think that Epic have achieved what they set out to do with this change.
The comment from them was that shotguns were being used too much. This change has opened up more options. If you wade into CQC with a tac SMG, you no longer die with the first shot the guy with the shotgun gets off.
You no longer instantly die to the guy with the shotgun you didn't see. Where previously you (I) needed to have an AR and a shotgun in order to be ready to play, I'm now way more comfortable taking pretty much whatever I find and not being concerned if I don't have a shotgun. I like the game in it's current form, and also appreciate the constant changes and re-balances. That's the beauty of an online sandit, and Epic are doing a.
